FAMILY FUN AND EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES HIGHLIGHT EVENT
AT AMSCOT FINANCIAL IN SEBRING

Sebring, FL., December 2, 2004/ - Amscot Financial, a Florida-based tax and retail financial services company, is proud to announce its Family Fun Day and Open House on Saturday, December 4, 2004 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at 1203 US Hwy 27 North in Sebring. Entertainment will be provided by a balloon twisting and juggling clown, Eddie Dominquez, and 99.1 “Best Country” radio station will be broadcasting live from Amscot's parking lot and giving away prizes. Free refreshments will be served courtesy of Hungry Howie's Pizza. Amscot Financial Recruiters will be on-site reviewing resumes and conducting interviews.

During the event, Amscot Financial will present a check for $1,000 to The Hansen Center, a program of the Children's Home Society of Florida. The residential facility provides a safe haven for abused, abandoned or neglected children in Sebring. Currently 20 children live at the center and they are fully cared for by the staff. The children participate in special activities, field trips and receive counseling tailored to their needs. “We are incredibly grateful to Amscot Financial for being such a wonderful community partner,” said Teri Saunders, Executive Director of the Gulf Coast Division of the Children's Home Society of Florida. “The children at the Hansen Center rely very much on the goodwill of the community and it's companies like Amscot that bring out the very best,” added Saunders.

“We are very excited to be a part of what the Hansen Center is doing to reach out to children in need,” said Ian A. MacKechnie, Executive Vice President of Amscot Financial. The Hansen Center is a facility of the Children's Home Society of Florida (CHS), the state's oldest and largest child welfare agency. It presently serves over 100,000 children in Florida and more than 30,000 children have been placed in adoptive families since its founding in 1902 as an orphanage in Jacksonville, Florida.

Also participating in the grand opening event is Child Protection Education of America, Inc. (CPEA), a national nonprofit organization for missing children based in Tampa , FL. The CPEA will be available on-site to provide fingerprinting for children through their “ID ME NOW” program, which produces a free, state-of-the-art, specially designed card for parents to keep. The card contains a set of the child's digital fingerprints, a black and white photo of the child, a dental chart, and instructions on how to do a simple DNA collection. Safety brochures are provided with the fingerprint card, as well as an envelope containing further information on how to complete their child safety kit. This information can assist parents and law enforcement officers involved with a
missing child case. An interactive child safety CD-ROM can also be purchased for $5.00 at the event.
