Thousands of postcards collected from the Tampa Bay area.

Tampa , FL., November 22, 2004/ - In October, Amscot Financial and WQYK-FM announced a collaborative effort to reach our servicemen and women overseas. During the “Postcards from Home” drive, communities poured out their support for our troops into nearly 20,000 postcards, greeting cards and letters expressing their thanks and wishing them well during this holiday season.

The “Postcards From Home” project, which began October 1st and ended November 10th , invited WQYK listeners and others to prepare holiday cards for our soldiers and drop them off at any of Amscot Financial's more than 70 locations. From there the cards were delivered to WQYK on Veteran's Day, November 11. They will be packaged and shipped within the coming days to our military troops serving in Iraq , Afghanistan and other countries around the world.
