Amscot's Privacy Policy
Amscot recognizes the sensitive nature of your nonpublic personal information, and we take precautions to protect your privacy. When you provide us with this information, we will use it only in accordance with our strict guidelines.

We have prepared this policy to explain what types of information we collect, and under what circumstances we may share it with others. This policy covers check cashing, money order, money transfer, deferred presentment and all other financial services transactions that you conduct with Amscot. We hope that you will thoroughly review all of the details of Amscot's official policy on privacy. Importantly, we want you to know and understand that Amscot uses your nonpublic personal information responsibly and only in order to:

Provide you with the financial services you have requested.
Offer you other financial services from Amscot.
Make doing business with Amscot more convenient for you.
In no event do we provide your account or nonpublic personal information to anyone outside of Amscot for the purpose of independent telemarketing or direct mail marketing of any non-financial products or services. We also maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to guard against the unauthorized disclosure of this information. Only in extremely limited circumstances, outlined below, do we share your information with other financial services firms.
The Kinds of Information We Collect
Amscot collects nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:
From you when you apply to conduct check cashing, money order, money transfer, deferred deposit and other financial services transactions with us. Amscot may ask you to provide information about your financial status, such as employment and income, as well as identifying information such as your address, telephone number, and social security number.
From your transactions with us. We maintain information about your transactions with Amscot including the types of transactions and payment history.
From the bank where you maintain your checking account.
From consumer credit reporting agencies and from persons we contact when we verify information you provide on applications to do business with us including your spouse, relatives, and employer.
How We Use This Information
We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about you or our former customers to anyone, except as permitted by law. These disclosures include the following:
Within Amscot. We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those of our employees who need to know that information to provide the products or services that you have requested to you. Our employee handbook instructs employees to maintain the confidentiality of your nonpublic personal information.
Companies With Whom Amscot Has Product or Service Agreements. In order to provide you with the financial products and services you request or may find desirable, Amscot will provide nonpublic personal information to nonaffiliated third parties with whom Amscot has an agreement to provide such products and services. For example, Amscot and NetSpend Corporation have an agreement to offer our customers a prepaid cash-based debit card issued by Inter National Bank, N.A. Because we view the prepaid debit card as a financial product that our customers need and expect Amscot to provide, we work closely with NetSpend to make it available to you, and will provide NetSpend with information we collect from you on applications for the debit card. In addition, Amscot and HSBC Bank USA, National Association, have an agreement to offer our customers refund anticipation loans in connection with their federal income tax obligations. Pursuant to this agreement, Amscot will provide HSBC Bank with information we collect from you about your income, expenses, and potential income tax liabilities. Further, Amscot and Western Union Financial Services have an agreement by which Western Union will make money transfer services available to our customers. Pursuant to this agreement, Amscot will provide information to Western Union that it collects from you on the send, receive and other forms used to initiate these transfers. Each of the companies with whom Amscot has product or service agreements has agreed to strictly safeguard the confidentiality of your nonpublic personal information, and they are not permitted to share this information without Amscot's permission or except as otherwise required by law.
Companies You Ask Us to Share Information With. Amscot may get permission from you to share your information. If you grant permission, it will only apply to the specific program or programs you consent to. If you have previously requested that we block the sharing of your information, that request will remain in place for all other situations.
Outside Service Providers. At times, we have arrangements with companies whose assistance is essential for the delivery of our services to you. For example, we work with data processing, computer programming and computer software firms to ensure that Amscot's computer systems function properly. We also engage a third party to assist us in conducting the federally mandated comparisons of prospective customers with the U.S. government lists of terrorists and other Specially Designated Nationals. These firms perform their services at Amscot's direction and, as permitted by law, we share customer information necessary to perform these services to them. As with all of our business partners, these companies are required to safeguard your information and use it only for authorized purposes.
Consumer Reporting Agencies and Database Operators. It is standard industry practice and within federal and state law to provide data about customer repayment transactions and defaults to these agencies and other creditors. In addition, if you conduct a deferred presentment transaction with Amscot, Florida law requires that we disclose information about the proposed transaction to the operator of a statewide database that monitors all such transactions of deferred presentment providers.
Courts and Government Bodies. Federal and state laws may require us to share information about you. For example, if you are involved in a legal matter with a third party, we may be ordered to provide information to a court or other party. In these circumstances, only the information required by law, subpoena or court order will be provided.
