Continuing to promote “Kids First” through child safety, in October 2005, Amscot donated 15 bike helmets to a Special Education class of 3-10 year olds at Claywell Elementary School. The teacher and students were very grateful to receive the donation of helmets. |

In February 2005, Amscot Financial continued in the bike helmet giveaway tradition by donating over 25 helmets to the Early Exceptional Learning Program at Pizzo Elementary School. The special needs children, ages 3-5 years, were very excited to receive new bike helmets! |

Tabernacle Christian School in Sarasota, FL held their Annual Wheel-A-Thon, a school-wide bicycling and rollerblading competition for students 3-14 years of age. Amscot Financial donated child bike helmets to be given away as prizes for the winners. |
| Pinellas County Superintendent’s Luncheon for Community Involvement and Achievement |
Amscot sponsored a luncheon for the Pinellas County Superintendent of Schools in order to foster open communication between the school district and local community leaders. Superintendent Dr. Clayton Wilcox called upon local church leaders in his first session to discuss minority issues in Pinellas County. Dr. Wilcox’s goal is to focus on achievement within the school system, specifically addressing issues for minority students in order to help them reach their goals. The first luncheon proved to be a
great success!

Lakewood Elementary School – St. Petersburg, FL
This year we donated $500 to sponsor the Math Parent Workshop held on September 22, 2005 at Lakewood Elementary School in St. Petersburg. The workshop educates parents of elementary school-aged children on how to work through and complete the math homework that the children take home. By assisting parents, students are more successful in completing their homework assignments and achieving passing grades.
Lomax Elementary Magnet School – Tampa, FL
This year, Amscot Financial donated 50 bike helmets to the Health and Safety Fair that was held at Lomax Elementary Magnet School. The Health and Safety Fair included booths which provided information on health and personal safety issues, poison control, animal safety, hurricane preparedness, firearm safety, water safety, Mothers Against Drunk Drivers, child abduction prevention, CPR, and automobile safety. The first 50 children to visit each booth received a free bike helmet from Amscot Financial!
13th Annual Golf Tournament for A Brighter Community – Tampa, FL
A Brighter Community is a non-profit pre-school and family support program that subsidizes admission to the pre-school for children ages 3-6 whose parents are mostly low-income, single parents that are either working, full-time students or in job training programs. This year, Amscot Financial donated pens for the 13th Annual Golf Tournament which is A Brighter Community’s major annual fundraising event. The pens were added to goodie bags which were given to the event participants.
Hillsborough Education Foundation
Amscot Financial contributed to the Hillsborough Education Foundation’s Annual Comedy Night. Proceeds from the Comedy Night benefit the Communities in Schools “stay in school” programs administered through the Hillsborough Education Foundation. Communities in Schools of Hillsborough is dedicated to providing needed community resources to help young people successfully learn, stay in school and prepare for life. |
